My name is Kevin Bright and I bring to you more than 20 years of combined formal education and real-world information technology experience.

Since graduating from West Virginia University Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology (Cum Laude) and an A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology, I have held various full-time positions in the fields of Information Technology and Control Systems Engineering.

For most of my career, I have worked within the industrial process control industry, where much of my work has centered around providing programming, configuration and troubleshooting support for industrial process control systems and process control and business networks.

Since coming to Richmond in 1996, I have been employed by Control Dynamics, Inc., the Emerson Process Management representative office for the state of Virginia.  Since 2000, I have been serving in the role of Manager of Information Systems, but have also held positions within the company as a Systems Engineer and Information Technology Specialist, providing various consulting and engineering services to many of the company's customers.

Prior to coming to Richmond in 1996, I was employed by Shell Chemical Company at their Point Pleasant Polyester Plant, which is now known as M&G Polymers USA, LLC, in Apple Grove, WV, holding positions as a Distributed Control Systems Engineer and Assistant Process Control Network Administrator, where I co-managed both the DEC VAX/VMS-based and Windows NT 4 networks that were responsible for the process control and production systems of the plant.

Before joining Shell Chemical Company, I worked for John Brown Engineering & Construction (now known as Aker Kvaerner Engineering) in their Charleston, WV office, where I held positions as an Electrical Engineer and Network Administrator. In these roles, I provided electrical engineering design services for customers and was responsible for the installation and management of the first network and email system (Novell Netware 3.12) in the Charleston branch office.

The various professional positions I’ve held and formal education I’ve received have provided me with many years of valuable training and hands-on experience that I am now making available to you. Please feel free to contact me for any of your information technology needs.

I look forward to working with you.
